2009 Meet the Future Luncheon

WASHINGTON -- The D.C. Students Construction Trades Foundation recognized outstanding 2009 graduates of the Academy of Construction and Design at Cardozo Senior High School during the annual Meet the Future Luncheon on May 8, 2009, at the Willard InterContinental. Graduating seniors, Marie-Louise NgoMbock and Freddy Possian were awarded scholarships in the amount of $2,500 and $1,500, respectively.

2008 Cardozo Graduates at the Meet The Future Luncheon

The Academy of Construction and Design at Cardozo Senior High School recognized seniors – (left to right) Mohamed Sesay, Dwayne Morris, Keir Johnson, Yoel Leon, Andrea Green, Sachonho Hayes, Tavone Garris and Marquis Lewis – and welcomed nearly 300 District students and guests at the second annual Meet the Future Luncheon hosted by the D.C. Students Construction Trades Foundation in downtown Washington. Offering pre-apprenticeship education and training in carpentry, electrical and heating/cooling/ventilation, Cardozo Academy encourages students to stay in school and graduate, and prepares them to enter industry jobs or college programs after graduation.
